Best Friends Animal Sanctuary

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is nestled in the sprawling red-rock canyons of southern Utah, just five miles north of Kanab. On any given day, about 1,600 animals call the Sanctuary a home-between-homes. Dogs, cats, bunnies, birds, horses, pigs and other barnyard animals come here from all over the country. Each and every one is seeking a safe haven where they can find refuge, love and acceptance.

Bryce Canyon

Did someone say "hoodoo" Bryce Canyon National Park is often described as a fairyland of sand and stone. It's made up of a series of amphitheaters that have been shaped into fantastic slot canyons and spires, called hoodoos, over the last 50 million years. This unique national park will leave your jaw dropping and your heart pumping as you explore the 50 miles of trails and unparalleled views. Coral Pink Sand Dunes

Up for a little sand-boarding? Located just down the road from Kanab, Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park comprises 3,730 acres of sparkling salmon-pink sand dunes perfect for playing, exploring, riding and even sand-boarding. The park includes a campground and is a popular destination for hiking, ATV riding and outings with Best Friends Animal Sanctuary dogs during the cooler months.

Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument

If you're looking for one of the last explored areas of the continental U.S., this is it. This national monument was separated into three distinct units in December 2017: the Grand Staircase, Kaiparowits and Escalante Canyon. Its treasures include colorful sandstone cliffs, narrow slot canyons, prehistoric village sites and fossils spanning 30 million years. Escalante Canyon is the most popular area of the monument, especially among hikers.
